About Consoul

Who teaches your course, and what stands behind it.

Conrad Mepham-Stone, founder and lead trainer at Consoul

Consoul trains people in NLP, hypnosis and coaching, face to face and in small groups. It is run by Conrad Mepham-Stone, who came to the subject as a sceptic and stayed because it worked.

In his words

I spent fifteen years in the Royal Air Force. I deployed to Afghanistan, trained and mentored personnel, and supported RAF teams through ceremonial engagements, including The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Parade and the funerals of both HM Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. For my personal service to the Royal Family I was invited into the Royal Victorian Order by HM King Charles III.

What those roles taught me was how much of leadership is communication, and how easily it goes wrong under pressure. So when a colleague pushed me towards an NLP course in 2016, I went, mostly to prove it was nonsense. I was wrong. A year later I qualified as a Master Practitioner in both NLP and hypnosis.

I have coached professionally since 2018 and qualified as a trainer in 2021. Consoul is where those two things meet: the tools that made a difference to me, taught properly, to people who want to use them on their own lives or in their work with others.

I would rather train twelve people well than a hundred badly.

That is why courses stay small, why they happen in a room rather than on a video call, and why you will practise every technique on real material instead of watching a demonstration.

The route here

From the Royal Air Force to NLP training.

  1. 2008

    Royal Air Force

Fifteen years training, mentoring and supporting personnel, including pre-deployment training in Afghanistan and the programme for the RAF's part in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Parade and two state funerals.

  2. 2016

First NLP course, as a sceptic

Enrolled to humour a colleague. Qualified as a Master Practitioner in both NLP and hypnosis the following year, and began studying coaching and mentoring alongside it.

  3. 2018

    Coaching professionally

Working with clients directly, and finding out which parts of the model hold up when someone is sitting in front of you with a real problem.

  4. 2021

    Qualified as a trainer

Certified to train NLP and hypnosis, alongside the last years of his RAF service.

  5. 2023

Royal Victorian Medal, and CPD accreditation

On leaving the service, appointed to the Royal Victorian Order by HM King Charles III and awarded the Royal Victorian Medal for personal service to the Royal Family. The same year, Consoul was assessed and approved by the CPD Standards Office and Conrad recognised individually as a Coach of Excellence.

Level 5 Certificate in Professional Coaching Practice

A Consoul cohort holding their Practitioner certificates

Consoul is a Chartered Management Institute Registered Centre, so alongside the NLP training you can work towards a CMI Level 5 Certificate in Professional Coaching Practice. It is a recognised management qualification, which means your coaching is backed by something an employer can check rather than by experience alone.

Completing it brings formal recognition from the CMI and student membership, which carries their management resources, events and career support.

Conrad will talk you through what the qualification involves and what it costs, so you can decide whether it is worth adding.

Who it is for

Who is NLP for?

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a practical toolkit for understanding how you think, communicate and respond, and for changing the patterns that hold you back. Our NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner courses suit people who want to communicate clearly under pressure, coaches and HR professionals adding accredited techniques to their practice, and anyone seeking more confidence and a way past limiting beliefs.

Graduates leave with tools they use every day, from reframing setbacks to handling difficult conversations. Taught face to face in small groups across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, with the option to gain a L5 CMI qualification in Professional Coaching Practice.

If you’ve ever wondered whether NLP could work for you, you’re exactly who it’s for.
