The course
Ninety-five per cent of what you think, believe and do runs below conscious awareness. Practitioner training is where you learn to see that machinery working, in yourself first and then in the people you work with.
You spend six days in one room with a small group, away from the noise, practising every technique on real material rather than hypothetical case studies. You leave certified by the ABNLP and ABH, with the confidence to actually use what you have learned.
Outcomes
What you will be able to do.
By the end of the course these are things you will have practised, not just heard about.
Foundations
- How NLP developed, what it is built on, and the presuppositions the whole model rests on
- The conscious and unconscious mind, and why the unconscious sets most of the outcome
- The NLP communication model, and where meaning gets lost between two people
- Representational systems, and how to recognise and match the way someone thinks
- Values, beliefs and identity, and how to work with them without pushing
Language and influence
- The Meta Model, for taking vague statements apart and finding what is really being said
- The Milton Model, for language that speaks past resistance
- Rapport, pacing and leading, so influence comes from understanding rather than pressure
- Reframing, metaphor and clean questions
- Presenting and holding a room, whether that is one client or forty people
Techniques you can use on Monday
- Anchoring, collapsing anchors and chaining states
- Submodalities, for changing how an experience lands
- Timeline work, and clearing the charge out of past events
- Parts integration and resolving internal conflict
- Hypnosis: inductions, deepeners, suggestion and safe emergence
- Well-formed outcomes and goal setting that survives contact with real life

About the NLP Practitioner course

Who is the Practitioner course for?
Anyone who wants to communicate better and understand how the mind works. Past cohorts have included coaches, therapists, managers, teachers, HR and L&D professionals, healthcare staff and people in sport. No background in psychology is needed.
Is there any pre-course work?
Nothing is required before you arrive. An open-book test comes out with your joining instructions and is completed by the end of the course. You also get NLP TV access beforehand, so you can read ahead if you want to.
What do I leave with?
A globally recognised Practitioner certificate accredited by the American Board of NLP, hypnosis certification through the ABH, 30.5 CPD points, your course booklet and aide-memoire, and continued access to NLP TV.
The venue is a long way from me. Can I stay nearby?
Yes. Courses are held where there is accommodation at the venue or very close to it, so you can stay for the week and give the training your full attention. We will send options with your joining instructions.
